This is my shabby chic/vintage rose nail art tutorial, inspired by Cath Kidston style designs :) It features two rose nails, with pinstripes and polka dots on the others to create the shabby chic effect.
1)
For this design you will need 5 different varnishes; a white, green, a medium pink, light/baby pink and light blue. The medium pink I used is Barry M #279, the rest are from a Nail Star set.
2)
3)
To create the rose design, start with your accent nail and paint three fairly large, irregularly shaped blobs like the picture above - make sure there's a little space between them to add leaves later on though.
4)
The next stage of creating the roses is to take your light pink polish and carefully paint these short, curved lines on your darker blobs. Start from the outside and work inwards, think of painting stretched out letter 'C''s getting smaller and smaller. If you find using a brush a bit tricky, try using a toothpick instead.
5)
To finish the rose design use your green varnish to carefully paint some leaves on; add one or two per rose depending on their size and the space you have, go for a slightly triangular shape.
6)
Then repeat the process for your thumbnail, as this is bigger you should be able to fit four rather than three flowers.
7)
Next, use your white varnish to carefully paint five pinstripes down your middle nail; again, if you find this difficult try using a toothpick instead as some brushes are thicker than others.
8)
Then use your white polish to paint some diagonal pinstripes on your smallest nail; try rotating the nail in the opposite direction to your brush stroke to get a straight line more easily.
9)
The last step is to add quite a lot of random polka dots using your white varnish to the last remaining nail; add as many as you like and place them in any order.
And this is the finished shabby chic/vintage rose nail art design :)
